Event Info You’ve done everything right. You updated your CV. You applied. You waited. And heard nothing. Or maybe you got the job — but walking into that Dutch workplace felt like landing on a different planet. Nobody told you about the feedback culture. Or why your manager asks for your opinion in every meeting but still makes the decision alone. Or why being loud and confident — which worked back home — is suddenly working against you. If any of this sounds familiar, this evening was designed for you. What is this? On Thursday 2nd April 2026, MyNigeria.nl is hosting a free, intimate virtual evening of real career conversations — with African leaders who are actually working in Low-Code Tech and HR right here in the Netherlands. No fluff. No theory. Just honest, practical insight from people who have been where you are. In one evening, you will walk away with: — A clear picture of what Dutch recruiters actually want to see on your CV — Practical steps to position yourself for a career in tech — even without a tech degree — A real understanding of Dutch workplace culture and how to navigate it with confidence — Inspiration and direction from professionals who look like you and made it work here This is for you if: You are a Nigerian or African professional in the Netherlands — employed, between jobs, or newly arrived. Or you are the spouse of someone who relocated here and you are trying to find your footing professionally. Registration is free. Slots are limited. This is not a webinar with 500 people. It is a small, intentional gathering. When the room is full, it is full.
Let us crack this career positioning and understand better how to integrate and thrive in the Dutch work environment. We can’t wait to meet you. |

Our meetups and events are at the very core of what we do and we hold a couple regularly.
The Virtual Coffee Chats: These include
One amazing thing about these sessions is the ample time given for Q & A because we understand that the information that is most useful to us is the one that directly addresses any unique needs we might have.
Virtual Coffee chats usually hold every 3rd Friday of the month.
Career Chats: These are Q& A career focused sessions designed to help us enhance and build our career, positioning us for more growth. Career chats are done in collaboration with our sister company – The Blacktech and Business Incubator. You can find out more information on the website – the blacktechandbusinessincubator.com.
New Members Welcome Party: This happens every quarter. Date and time are communicated well in advance. Welcome parties can be either virtual or physical but it never lacks the feeling of Naija Owambe vibes (if you know you know!)
myNigeria.NL Legacy Convos: These are safe spaces where we come together to discuss real issues affecting us as individuals and as a community. Because of the sensitivity of these spaces, sessions are not recorded so attendees feel free to express themselves and get the help/advice needed if desired.
After Work Gists, Rants & Banter: Wouldn’t it be nice to have a time and space when you can suspend adulting for a bit and just let your hair down, without judgement? Like take some emotional, mental and maybe physical fresh air and forget bills and issues for a moment. That space exists right here at the After Work Gists, Rants & Banter session. Unlike the convos space, this session is a totally hilarious session where we just let our hair down, rant and talk about anything and everything. Right here we gist, we share good jokes and wisdom and sometimes we whine, with no judgement. There is really no adulting here. lol. It’s an experience you shouldn’t miss. If you are looking for a good dose of laughter from your kindred, the after work gists, rants and banter is the place to be. Sometimes we even yab each other with a good heart of course. nothing dey our mind. Na play we dey play and groove we just wan catch like we do it back at home.
Naija Mum’s Hangout Specifically curated for Nigerian Mums in NL. This covers a wide range of topics but all topics are customized to the needs of career, business, motherhood and womanhood as a Nigerian mum in the Netherlands. Naija mum hangout is held in partnership with our sister company – She Thrives Nigeria.
Productivity/Wellness Sessions: Think time management and wholistic health improvement because as we know, living here is majorly DIY (no driver, cook, office assistant, maid etc). So we learn how to manage time. And we don’t get to be able to run to the doctor at every sign of a symptom because healthcare here is different. Positively different but still very different. So we need to learn how to manage our health, time and energy from a wholistic and natural point of view so we are able to fully and optimally function without burning out.
We have interesting meetups every month and the beauty is that even if you can’t make it, you have free replay access to the recorded events as a community member and being a community member is equally free! For now at least 🙂
We also have major events that come up every year including the first ever fully Nigerian-themed festival in the Netherlands – NaijaFEST.NL You can find out more information on www.naijafest.nl
Our advice? While we record most events, some events are not recorded and are best experienced live. So stay close so you don’t miss a bit on any meetup and event updates. That way, you are in control and get to choose which you want to attend without being told later that you missed out!
